J.D. Johnson Claims Prelude to Hutch Nationals NCRA Sprint Victory!

Hutchinson, Kansas – August 3, 2018 - Coming into Friday night’s racing action, J.D. Johnson of Wichita, Kansas came into race number seven on the season winless on the tour, yet still runner-up in the season point standings. You can now add Johnson as the seventh different feature winner on the season as he claimed the Friday night portion of the “Mid-Summer Classic” as the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products sprint car division at the 62nd annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Hutchinson Grand Nationals presented by Allen Samuels Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram of Hutchinson.



Johnson and Don Droud, Jr. started on the front row for the fifteen-lap feature with Johnson, aboard the Johnson Motorsports owned, Briley Built powered J&J chassis taking the lead as the green flag fell.

Johnson and his Auto Craft, Evans, Relloy USA, Andale Construction, Alternative Pest Control sponsored #98 would lead the entire distance to claim his first series victory of the season. Droud, aboard the Ochs Brothers owned, Don Ott powered Schnee chassis finished second while Versallies, Missouri driver Ayrton Genneton, making his first series and Hutch Nationals appearance, came home third. Jeremy Campbell and his Dan's Cycle/Scott's Well Service/BEPC, Knoche Farms/JP Agronomy/HRP/DMI Penske sponsored Maxim chassis finished fourth while twelfth-starting Danny Jennings brought his Patterson Elite powered Maxim chassis through the field to round out the top five.
