Lebanon, MO; Hot weather led to even hotter racing at the Lebanon I-44 Speedway Saturday night. The Monster Energy Chase for the Cup is winding down, and the points battles are getting as close as the racing.

Terry Taylor grabbed the early lead in the Modified feature with last week’s winner Brian Brown hot in his tire tracks. Brown would grab the lead from Taylor and try to pull away from the field while Tim Swearengin and point leader Jason Otto charged up through the field. Swearengin would catch the leader Brown by the halfway point, patiently planning his move. Swearengin looked to the bottom of Brown for several laps, with Otto quickly catching up to the leaders. Otto decided to make his move on Swearengin, quickly diving to the bottom in turn three. Otto’s move didn’t work, as he slipped up into Swearengin, sending him spinning and bringing out the caution with two laps to go. Taylor would move up to second as both drivers would be sent to the back for bringing out the caution. Brown would get a good jump on Taylor on the restart and quickly pull away to take his second win in a row. Taylor came home second, Swearengin third, Otto fourth and Dickinson rounded out the top five. The win helped Brown reduce the points lead about half as he went from 63 to 30 points behind the point leader Otto.

Tony Jackson, Jr. grabbed the lead from Robert Baltzell early in the Late Model feature and quickly pulled away from the rest of the field. Point’s leader Ken Dickinson would follow Jackson through traffic, and tried to hold off last week’s winner Mike Slone. Jackson would cruise to victory in dominating fashion with Slone coming home second, Dickinson third, Chris Beaver fourth, and Robert Baltzell rounded out the top five.

Shawn Jones would grab the lead late in the Charger feature, holding off the field going three and four wide the entire feature for the victory. Brent Murphy came home second, Caston Jones third, Nick Moore fourth and Gary Davenport rounded out the top five. Payton Lucas made a daring move on leaders Mike Scott and Steve Shaw to bring home the victory in the Pure Street feature. Scott came home second, Shaw third, Riley Sharp fourth and Missy Shaw rounded out the top five.

Dale Roper, Jr. grabbed the early lead in the Coca Cola Street Stocks with Mike Coryell all over his back bumper. Coryell made his move with six to go, going to the low groove while Roper stayed up top. The two battled side by side for three laps until Coryell finally made the bottom stick with two to go to take the lead. Coryell would take home the victory, Roper second, Tom Clouse third, Rex Sawyer fourth and David Jennings rounded out the top five. Ashley Deschenes used a late race caution to take the lead from Joe Bunkers to take home the OMSRA Mini Stock feature win. Bunkers was second, Michael Deschenes third, Kevin Hunt fourth, and Tyler Berry rounded out the top five.
