Jackson Doubles-Up On The Midway Takes Second Mod Main

Lebanon,Mo.-Racing Action continued at the Lebanon Midway Speedway Friday night as over 90 cars checked into the pits with close action at the end of the features.

The SuperStock class proved you don't always need a big field to provide everyone with an excellent feature.On the start Jody Saultz jumped to the early lead with Donnie Gennings in tow.Saultz who was setting a fast pace would find Gennings try several attempts to pass as point leader Tony Jackson Jr was coming from the back along with JC Newell.On lap 7,Jackson caught the leaders and tried the outside groove.Saultz went up the track and Gennings shot to the inside taking over the lead as Saultz and Jackson made contact.On lap 9,the yellow waved as Saultz suffered a flat tire.On the restart,Jackson and Gennings wagged war with JC Newell in the hunt also_On lap 11,Jackson pulled off the pass and recorded anothe feature win with Gennings,Newell,Saultz and Randy Hill at the stripe.

The Modifieds again provided plenty of fireworks as 21 strong took the green flag as Ted VanZandt and Wayne Johnson brought the field down for the green only to find Kevin Halderman loop it in turn 1 collecting point leader Wayne Graybeal,Micheal Jones,Chris Johnson and Todd McCoin as all returned to action,but Graybeal suffered a flat tire.As the field line up on the restart,Graybeal quickly tacked on to the rear after changing the flat.On the restart,VanZandt shot to the lead with Jamie Ragland right behind him and moved to the lead.On lap 3,Todd McCoin spun bringing out the yellow as Ragland restarted in the lead followed by Wayne Johnston VanZandt and last weekes winner Tony Jackson Jr moving up quickly after starting 11th along with newcomer Dean Bell.Point leader Wayne Graybeal started his charge from 21st and had now moved into the top 10.With Ragland setting a fast pace upstairs,Jackson was working the low side and on lap 8 took over the top spot as Ragland ran side-by-side with him.Wayne Johnston pulled in 1 lap later while running third as VanZandt suffered a brush with the frontstretchwall with a flat tire in the end result.On the restart,Jackson and Ragland began a battle as Dean Bell and Brian Brown were charging for third place along with James Hartman.On the 15th lap Graybeal moved into the top 5 and was clearly the fastest car on the track as Wes Long was recovering form an early spin and was moving forward.With Jackson now pulling away,Ragland was locked into second the race was for third between Long,Hartman,Graybeal.Jackson would find his second win of the season and also of the evening as Ragland,Graybeal,Hartman and Long rounded out the top 5.
The Winged Sprint car feature would see Scott Wedelstadt jump to the early lead with Mike Larson,Erik Enneking,JP Compton and Eric Todd in tow.Point leader Joe Todd,after flipping his car in the heat race was using Dustin Arnall's machine would retire on lap 1 with problems.Out front Wedelstadt would see Compton grab the top spot on lap 3 as J.Kinder and Steve Lawrence were charging fron the back of the pack.Eric Todd,who was looking for the clean sweep of the evening began his charge to the front as Compton was checking out.On lap 9,Keith Breedlove spun in turn 1 bunching the field up.On te restart,Compton and Eric Todd began there battle as Clint Todd was battling with Kinder,Lawrence Enneking,and Wedelstadt all battling for position.On lap 13.Eric Todd powered around Compton and never looked back in recording his second points race victory of the season as brother Clint Todd charged from 11th to grab the runner-up spot followed by early leader Compton,Lawrence, and Matt Tatro at the stripe.
The FactoryStock saw Mike Hailman grab the early lead and open it up to a full straightaway as Doug Rich and point leader Randy Berry were battling hard for position along with Troy White.Early season dominator Tim Brown who arrived late to the track was moving up quickly from 11th and was contending with each position.With Hailman alonne up front,Brown had moved into second on lap 10 and was coming quickly.On lap 12,Troy White stalled in turn 4 bringing out the yellow and closing up the field.On the restart,Brown and Hailman went to battle with Brown overtaking Hailman for the lead.Back in third,Berry and Rich were battling hard for position.At the strip,Brown claimed the win followed closely by Hailman,Berry,Rich and Ron Myers.
The bomber feature had Mike Piercey jumping to the early lead,only to see the yellow displayed as point leader Justin Stoufer found the wall on the backstretch and was out for the evening.
On the restart,Piercey again grabbed the top spot with Bill Roberts and Aaron York in tow.With Pierscey looking for his second win,Roberts continued to look inside as Dusty Rhoades,Micheal Jackson and Dale Rodden were coming quickly along with Reggie Jackson.On lap 12,Roberts pulled along side of the leader Piercey and York was looking outside for the lead.On lap 13,Roberts pulled off the pass and recorded his first win of the season followed closely by York,Piercey,Rodden and Rhoades at the stripe.
Travis Pruitt would grab the early lead and hold off repeated challanges from Bryan Deatherage in claiming his first win of the season in the Mini-Stock division.Following the lead duo were last weeks winner Tony Moore,Leon Fellers and John Henson at the stripe.
Racing action will continue next Friday Night July 22 with a full program of Sprints,Modifieds,FactoryStocks,SuperStocks,Bombers and Mini-stocks with racing at 8 PM.
