Lebanon,Mo.-70 Race teams checked into the Lebanon Midway Speedway Friday Night for the 1st night of a racing twinbill for the weekend as 2 new features winners crossed the line.

In the SuperStock feature,2 time winner Ben Newell shot from his front row starting spot with veteran JC Newell hot on his heels and Tony Jackson Jr riding back in third. On lap 3,Jackson went around JC to grab runner-up position with Ben Newell setting a quick pace. The next circuit had Jackson going to the bottom of the track as Newell had the middle groove working strong. The next 3 laps would see a door to door battle until lap 9 when Gary Johnson and Jody Schaltz got together in turn 2 bringing out the only yellow as Jackson shot around Newell grabbing the top spot.As the green flew again,Newell went back upstairs as Jackson kept it down low as JC Newell was riding a strong third place while Tim Petty was coming quickly in 4th place. As the race stayed green,Jackson opened up the lead, only to have Newell close it back quickly. As the white was displayed,Jackson worked the traffic and grabbed his 4th in a row on Super Features followed closely by Ben Newell,JC Newell,Petty, and Kenny Wallander at the stripe.

The Modified feature had heat race winners Keith Branson and Dusty Johnston starting up front as Branson beat Johnston into the 1st turn to grab control with Kevin Halderman close behind in third.Darren Fullerton was moving quickly from the rear and challanging Reggie Jackson for contention.Up front Johnston was moving in and out trying to get around Branson, but Keith kept his car on the straight and held off repeated challanges to grab his first win of the season at the Midway followed closely by Dusty Johnston,Kevin Halderman,Eric Eagleburger and Reggie Jackson at the stripe.

The FactoryStockers had another outstanding field as Tim Brown jumped from his front row starting spot to lead the opening lap with Dennis Price right on his bumper followed closely by David Hendrix. On lap 3,price pulled along of leader Brown and the duo began a close battle going door to door for 2 laps, before the yellow came out for a bumper in turn 4.On the restart,Brown grabbed control with Price right behind him as Hendrix,Steve Price,Willie Wilson and Tim Riffle were battling for position. On lap 7,Price,Hendrix,Riffle and Wilson all got together in turn 2 with only Hendrix able to continue.

On the restart, brown shot to a 5 car length lead and Hendrix began his charge from deep in the field as Sam Evans,Jim Reaves, and Ward Fredrick Jr had a strong battle for third place. On lap 13,Brown and Price had pulled away from the field but 3rd place was up for grabs as Hendrix clearly had the fastest car on the track. As the white was displayed,Brown and Price were staying there, but Hendrix had picked off first Reaves,Fredrickson and challanged Evans for 3rd place just nipping him at the line.

The Bomber feature saw the leadies having a strong run tonight as Stephanie Bishop grab the early lead with last weeks winner Dusty Rhoades right on her bumper as Missy Shaw and Jennifer Crouch were battling for third place.Carl Weaver and Richard Talley crossed it up on the frontstretch bringing out the yellow. On the restart,Bishop had her car strong down low as Rhoades went high, then back down low as the duo got crossed up in turn 2 bringing out another yellow with both drivers going to the rear.On the restart,Rhoades moved from the rear down low just about that time, his car jumped to the right and rolled over several times.Dusty was able to walk away safely, but out for the evening. This put Chad Cromer in the lead with Crouch,Shaw and now Carl Weaver battling for second. As Cromer moved out in front,Weaver and the Cars of Shaw along with Crouch battling hard for secomd place. On lap 12,Weaver cleared the ladies and set his sights on leader Cromer as Cromers car began showing signs of smoke. As the white was displayed,Weaver closed up quickly, but Cromer held on the middle lane in grabbing his first win of the season followed closely by Weaver, Shaw, Crouch and Mike Willouby.

The Mini-Stock feature had a little bit of everything as opening night winner Travis Pruitt grabbed the early lead with Larry Andrus right on his bumper battling for the lead and Bobby Moore in the hunt.On lap 3.Pruitt's car jumped widly on the backstretch and rolled twice as Andrus got caught in it taking both drivers out of contention and Bobby Moore able to restart at the rear with little damage. This gave the lead to Bryan Detherage with John Wagner Jr behind him and Ike Moore in contention. On lap 10,Ike wouls loose a front wheel taking him to the pits as Bobby Moore was coming fast from the back.Wagner tried several moves, but Deatherage held off the charges to grab his second win of the season followed by Wagner, Bobby Moore, Pat Gordon and Chris Hardesty.
