(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) Jeep Van Wormer and the Iron Motorsports team headed out east last weekend for three Stacker 2 Xtreme Dirtcar Series events. On Thursday night, Jeep had one of his best runs on the circuit this season, as he brought his Bay Line Fire Protection / Miller Bros. Coal #55 Warrior Ford Taurus home in the sixth spot in the ‘Jersey Jackpot 50.’ He started the $10,000 to win event thirteenth, but had to come into the pits early on in the race. Jeep restarted on the tail and made it to as high as third, before his Warrior chassis encountered a pushing problem. The team then headed to the Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown on Friday, but that event was postponed due to rain.
The Iron Motorsports team then traveled to Mechanicsburg, PA and the Williams Grove Speedway for the $10,000 to win ‘Turkey Hill Clash at the Grove 50.’ Jeep made the event by finishing second in the B-Main, but he suffered heavy damage to his car during the early laps of the feature event. Jeep returned to the event several laps down and finished in the twentieth spot. The event at Williams Grove was taped by the SPEED Channel and will be televised Saturday, June 26, at 3pm E.D.T. After the weekend, Jeep improved one spot in the Stacker 2 XDCS point standings and now sits thirteenth in points after nine events.
Jeep will be in action this weekend at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH. The 10th Annual 'Dream 100' will be on tap this weekend with the winner receiving $100,000. The action kicks off on the high-banked, 1/2-mile clay oval this Friday night with qualifications and non-qualifiers events.
