(WALNUT RIDGE, ARKANSAS) Jeff Floyd had an impressive run in his #F1 GRT
"House Car" modified last week in the 1st Annual 'Alltel 100' at the
Batesville Speedway in Locust Grove, AR. "The Fireball" set fast time out
of 294 competitors last Tuesday and then qualified for the 100-lap, $100,000
event by finishing fourth in the A-feature on Wednesday night. This gave
Jeff an inside fourth row starting position for the 'Alltel 100' on
Saturday. Jeff started tenth in the feature (3-wide starting formation) and
worked his way up to the second place spot when the checkered flags fell
over the impressive field of modifieds. The second place effort paid the
team a cool $20,000.

"We had a really good car all week at Batesville," said Jeff on Monday. "It
was neat to set fast time with all of those cars there and then to finish
second in the Alltel 100 is pretty awesome. When I caught (Billy) Moyer and
(Wendell) Wallace for second and third and got by them pretty easily, I
thought I might have something for (eventual winner Scott) Bloomquist. But
he was really strong and I couldn't get to him. It was really fun to drive
a modified again and I have to thank everyone that was involved in putting
this deal together. I especially have to thank Joe Garrison at GRT Race
Cars and my dad for building the motor for the car. I also have to thank
(fellow drivers) Wendell Wallace and Jack Sullivan for all of their setup
advice all week."

His sponsors for the 'Alltel 100' included: Stamp Out Smoking, MSE
Distributing, GRT Race Cars, AFCO Racing Products, Integra Springs, JFR
Graphics, and D.S.I.

Jeff also found time to drive his Stamp Out Smoking / Floyd's Body Shop /
JFR Graphics #F1 GRT / Kuntz Ford Taurus Dirt Late Model. Since he had
already qualified for the 'Alltel 100' on Wednesday, Jeff traveled to the
Malden Speedway in Malden, MO for a $1,200 to win regular show. He won his
heat race and ended up running second in the main event to Terry English.

"The Fireball" will hit the O'Reilly MARS circuit again this weekend for a
pair of $3,000 to win shows. Friday night's MARS show will be held at the
Tulsa Speedway in Tulsa, OK. Jeff and the team will travel to Joplin, MO on
Saturday for the MARS show at the Joplin 66 Speedway. Jeff is currently
fourth in the O'Reilly MARS point standings after five events. You can
