Cave City, Arkansas (08/19/14) – Jeff Taylor pulled double duty over the weekend during the 22nd Annual COMP Cams Topless 100 at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas) competing in both the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) and Modified portions of the program.

Jeff took his #5 Industrial Electric/Taylor Chassis Open Wheel Modified into battle on Friday night, and came away with his eighth victory of the 2014 season. Taylor finished second behind Shawn Walsh in his heat race to lock into the main event. In the feature he charged to a convincing victory in front of his hometown crowd over Walsh, Brian Ritchie, Heath Grizzle, and Tyson Franks.

Saturday night's Open Wheel Modified main event would not favor as well for Taylor. He finish second in heat race action to lock into the main event, but a melee while battling for the lead brought his night to a disappointing early end.

Taylor also went into battle with many of the best Super Late Model competitors in the country, chasing the $40,000 top prize in a Keith Craft field entry. The event was co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series presented by Lucas Oil, and drew a stout field of sixty-three entries to the 3/8 mile oval.

In preliminary action on Friday night, Jeff's qualifying efforts earned him the seventh starting spot for his heat race. He advanced to a fourth place finish, leaving him one sport short of the transfer and sending him to a b-main on Saturday. Taylor started on the pole of his b-main, and battled at the front of the pack early before slipping to a third place finish. Unfortunately, only the top two finishers moved on to the 100 main event as his weekend came to an early end.

"Wow what a weekend we had," said Taylor. "First it was humbling to go into battle against so many talented Super Late Model guys. We came up one spot short there of making the show, but I have to thank Keith Craft for the opportunity he gave me." He concluded by saying, "We should've probably got two wins in the Modified, but we just had a freak deal happen to us on Saturday night. It happens though, and we'll move on."
