Runner-Up Performance in Spring Loaded 40

Crossville, Tennessee (04/08/19) – While he fell just short of visiting Victory Lane, Jesse Lowe still enjoyed a successful weekend in his Xtreme Pressure Washing #5j Gondolas Pizza and Steakhouse/ CVR Race Car Late Model.

Jesse led a majority of Friday feature’s at 411 Motor Speedway before slipping to a third-place finish following a late-race restart. On Saturday night he advanced to a runner-up finish in the UCRA event at I-75 Raceway.

“On Friday night I felt like we had the race in hand until a late-race restart, and I just didn’t fire well enough and Jason Welshan got by,” Lowe stated. “On Saturday night we didn’t necessarily have the fastest car, but we bided our time and worked into a runner-up finish.

“Despite falling short of getting a win this weekend, this year has started out being one of the best years yet. Not just as a driver but also as a fan, it’s great to see racing in East Tennessee doing so well with record crowds. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank each and every person who is making dirt track racing awesome.”

The weekend opened on Friday night at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tennessee), where Jesse hit the ground running by setting fast time over the field of 23 competitors in qualifying.

Via his qualifying performance, he locked into the pole position for the feature event. Lowe paced the field until a late-race caution bunched the running order. In the closing laps, Jason Welshan and Trevor Sise slipped past, relegating Jesse to a third-place finish.

Saturday night took the team to I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tennessee), where a $2,500 winner’s check was on the line for the United Championship Racing Association (UCRA) competitors. With 26 entries on hand, Lowe raced to a runner-up finish behind race winner, Cory Hedgecock. Trevor Sise, Michael Courtney and Rod Carroll completed the Top-5 finishers.

Via his performance on Saturday night, he took over possession of the UCRA point’s lead.
