Jimmy Cummins' road trip to Wheatland, MO's Lucas Oil Speedway!!

Debbie Cummins

Bomber Momma #19
They are on the road again. Jimmy and his Dad, Bruce "Crew Chief" Cummins, left for parts unknown in the Ozarks of Missouri. Wheatland is down Highway 44, about 4 hours away from us. I think these two love these male-bonding road trips! I hope they can survive the hotness today and tonight.

I'll post more news as I get it from them. PS - I have a new phone now and can get text messages!!!! Jimmy promised me he would send me some. We'll see.

Update #2 -- Bruce is excited! He said he's been trying to call me but his phone is not working so he used Jimmy's [Thank you Sprint :( Guess our new phones don't work out there?]

The race cars park on concrete pads with gravel areas for the trucks and trailers. The road to the track for the race cars is asphalt. Bruce says it is a very impressive track and he's glad they went.

24 B-Mods tonight, so no consi/semi. Jimmy made the show!

He drew the # 39 pill so he starts in the 1st heat race, 2nd row outside. Jimmy's got the car warmed up (in this heat?) and is ready for hot laps.

And guess who's there? Dirtgirl Lisa and Gussie! They wanted to see the track and just drove out there to see it tonight! Hello Dirtgirl! Give Jimmy such lucky hugs for me! :D

Update #3 -- Text from Jimmy....He started 4th and got 2nd to # 28 Bryant. Jimmy was passing him for the win and 28 came down to block Jimmy. :( Momma don't like that kind of racing. Just race for the win, don't race to block.

25 B-mods, 20 Late models, and 15 A-Mods.

Update #4 -- Jimmy started 5th in the Feature and finished 7th. He said it was not terrible. That's all I know so far.

Bruce is home now. Waiting for Jimmy to call and tell us he's home. Bruce said he got home about the same time that we usually get home from Highland. 3:00 a.m. That's OK, I've been scrapbookin' racing!

Gus and I really enjoyed the facility.
It was alot of fun.
Jimmy had a good night.
It was alot of fun hanging with your boys.
Glad everyone made it to and from safely.
