(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) The Mars Racing team made their yearly 'World 100' pilgrimage to the hallowed grounds of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on September 4-6 for the 44th edition of the "Granddaddy of Them All." Things kicked off at Eldora on Thursday and Friday with a pair of Twin 25 preliminary programs, each of which boasted a $5,000 top prize. On Thursday night, Jimmy Mars won his heat race and later placed fifth in the 25-lap headliner behind only winner Dale McDowell, Randy Weaver, Gregg Satterlee, and Brian Birkhofer. At the "Big E" on Friday evening, Jimmy ran third in his heat race prior to finishing fifteenth in the final rundown of his 25-lapper.

When Saturday rolled around at Eldora Speedway, the stakes were much higher and each driver was gunning for the $47,000 winner's check and the prestigious globe trophy. Jimmy finished second in his stacked heat race behind only prelim winner Dale McDowell, which earned him the inside sixth row starting spot in the 'World 100.' During the course of the 100-lap grind, the Menomonie, Wisconsin star vaulted all the way up to third in the running order before he was collected in a lap 61 incident triggered by a spinning Mason Zeigler. Jimmy was forced to retire with heavy front end damage to his MB Customs mount and he was relegated to a disappointing twenty-third place performance. Full results from the action-packed weekend at Eldora can be viewed online at www.eldoraspeedway.com.

Following the sour end to his 'World 100,' Jimmy will look to get pointed back in the right direction this upcoming weekend (September 12-13) at the dirt-covered Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan. The 'Down & Dirty 100,' which is sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, has been split up into two complete shows this year. Friday's 35-lap feature event will pay $8,000 to the winner, while a $12,000 payday will be on the line in Saturday's 65-lap weekend finale.
