(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) The #28 team made the journey to the hallowed grounds of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on September 7-9 for the "Granddaddy of Them All" - the 47th Annual 'World 100.' The most prestigious event in our industry got underway with a pair of Twin 25 preliminary programs with each feature winner receiving $10,000 for their efforts. On Thursday night, Jimmy Mars scored the victory in his heat race prior to finishing a close third in the 25-lap main event behind only victor Darrell Lanigan and runner-up Jonathan Davenport. At the "Big E" on Friday evening, Jimmy grabbed the fourth transfer spot through his heat race before advancing up to twelfth in the 25-lapper.

When the calendar flipped to Saturday, the largest crowd in the history of the storied 1/2-mile speedplant was on hand to witness the 'World 100,' which boasted a hefty $50,000 windfall. Jimmy placed second in his stacked heat race behind only Hudson O'Neal and later rolled off from the outside of the sixth row in the 100-lap headliner. The Menomonie, Wisconsin native pitted under an early caution flag and eventually retired his MB Customs mount in the twenty-sixth position. Complete results from the three-day crown jewel spectacular can be accessed online at www.eldoraspeedway.com.

Another lucrative crown jewel weekend is right around the corner, as Mars Racing will be making the trek to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa from September 14-16 for the 14th edition of the 'Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.' Two complete Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series programs will be held on Thursday and Friday with each preliminary feature winner set to record a $7,000 top prize.

Drivers will earn points in both of those shows to determine the lineups for Saturday's Championship Night, which will include a D-Main, C-Main, B-Main, and the 100-lap, $40,000 to win 'Knoxville Nationals' main event. Jimmy, who is always a threat each time he rolls into the Marion County Fairgrounds facility, finished sixth in last year's version of the big-money shootout.
