(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Menomonie, Wisconsin ace Jimmy Mars was in action in another late-season WISSOTA special on September 29-30 in the annual running of the 'Red Clay Classic' at ABC Raceway in Ashland, Wisconsin. On Friday night behind the wheel of his father-in-law's Late Model, Jimmy appeared to finish second in his heat race, but was later docked two spots for allegedly jumping the start of the race. He also won the Harry Hanson Lucky 7 Dash and donated the $700 winnings back to Hanson. After rolling off from the inside of the eighth row in Saturday's $5,000 to win 'Red Clay Classic,' Jimmy stormed through the pack in the 55-lap affair to earn a steady sixth place performance behind A.J. Diemel, Marshall Fegers, Harry Hanson, Steve Laursen, and Rick Hanestad.

In the WISSOTA Modified portion of the 42nd Annual 'Red Clay Classic,' Jimmy placed second in his heat race on Friday night and flexed his muscle throughout the $3,500 to win headliner on Saturday evening. The popular driver known as the "Iceman" battled hard for the second spot during the feature distance before eventually settling for a fourth place showing behind only victor Dave Cain, Jody Bellefeuille, and Jake Hartung. Complete results from the big weekend at ABC Raceway can be accessed online at www.abcraceway.com.

Jimmy will now turn his sights to the 'MTH Fall Classic' on October 6-7 at Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, Minnesota. Two separate, complete WISSOTA Late Model shows will be held on Friday and Saturday in the Gopher State, as a $2,000 top prize will be on the line each night. The WISSOTA Modifieds will compete in a two-day shootout, which boasts a $3,000 payday in the feature on Saturday evening. Jimmy once again has plans to enter cars in both classes this weekend at Ogilvie Raceway. More information concerning the 'MTH Fall Classic' can be located by logging onto www.ogilvieraceway.com.
