(Elk Mound, WI) Jimmy Mars Racing captured their third win of the 2003 season tonight at Superior Speedway in Superior, WI. The night did not start out promising for the superstar Dirt Late Model ace, as he finished fifth in his heat race, which sent him to consy land. He was able to win the consolation event and started 19th on the grid for the feature. By lap 12, Jimmy had moved up to the seventh spot and by lap 26, the Mars Racing #28 MasterSbilt / Pro Power entry had picked off three more cars to get up to fourth. Jimmy was third by lap 41 and passed the last two cars in the remaining laps of the event to take home the $10,000 to win PolyDome Super Series event tonight.

"We had a great car in the consy and the feature," said Jimmy after the race. "The track was a lot different then what we were geared up for in the beginning. It was just like West Plains (MO) Mtr. Speedway in that it was slick from top to bottom and you could race anywhere you wanted. This place is usually fast, rough, and hammer down, but it was smooth and slick tonight and we were able to make the adjustments to our car to win from the back."

Jimmy Mars Racing also competed in two events over the weekend. On Friday night, the team made an appearance in Granite City, IL for a $10,000 to win Xtreme DirtCar Series show at Tri-City Speedway. Jimmy ran second in his heat race to earn a sixth place starting spot for the feature. Jimmy would battle fiercely throughout the race to stay up front and eventually wound up in the sixth place spot after the 50-lapper.

Saturday night, Jimmy Mars Racing headed to yet another $10,000 to win Xtreme show, this time at the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, IL. “The Iceman” posted the fourth fastest qualifying lap and finished second in his heat race. Jimmy started twelveth in the main event and passed five cars during the 50-lap event to earn a seventh place spot at the pay window. Even with two Top Ten Xtreme finishes last week, Jimmy dropped from third to fourth in the yearlong Xtreme DirtCar Series National Point Standings.

A busy week is in store for Jimmy Mars Racing, as they will compete in three shows this week. The action kicks off on Tuesday night at West Liberty Raceway in West Liberty, IA. The cars and stars of the Xtreme DirtCar Series will be in West Liberty tomorrow night for a $10,000 to win show. Jimmy will then take the #28 to his home track at Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, WI on Wednesday night for a $7,000 to win PolyDome Super Series event. Then it is off to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, WI on Friday and Saturday for the annual running of the USA Outlaw Nationals. Jimmy won the Nationals back in 1996 and his looking for his second Nationals win on Saturday night.
