Joey Mack Crowned 2007 O’Reilly MSRA Champion

Beebe, AR (12/7/07) – The O’Reilly MSRA Super Late Models held their 2007 Night of Champions at Omar’s Steak House at the 501 Club in Jonesboro, Arkansas on Friday, November 30th.

A large, enthusiastic crowd was on hand for the event including drivers, sponsors, track owners, and fans. Seven drivers were honored for their 2007 achievements.

Joey Mack from Benton, Missouri claimed the inaugural O’Reilly MSRA Championship and was presented with a $5,000 check as well as an eight foot trophy. During the course of the 2007 season Joey picked up two feature wins with the tour, and the title marked his first ever Super Late Model Touring Championship.

Finishing a close second in the final point standings was Jeff Floyd from Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. Floyd and Mack battled for the title for the entire season with Floyd falling a few points shy at the end. Floyd won two races with the O’Reilly MSRA in 2007.

Third place in the final standings went to Yellville, Arkansas driver, Dusty Johnston, who had a break out year in 2007. Johnston picked up four feature wins with the series, including a three race win streak in August. In addition, Johnston was the lucky winner of the GRT Chassis, which was raffled at the end of the evening.

Billy Moyer Jr. from Batesville, Arkansas was presented with the fourth place award in the final point standings. Moyer Jr. was also recognized as the 2007 O’Reilly MSRA Kuntz & Company Rookie of the Year. His parents, Billy & Joyce, were on hand to salute his accomplishments.

Fifth place honors were presented to Jordan Jones from Beebe, Arkansas, who had several strong runs in 2007 in his familiar #60 entry.

Billy Peden Jr. from Marion, Arkansas was presented with the award for the sixth place point’s finisher.

Carl Thomas from West Memphis, Arkansas finished seventh in the final O’Reilly MSRA standings and also was presented with the 2007 Sportsman of the Year award.

All drivers received a large series’ check courtesy of JFR graphics. In addition, all of the drivers received trophies, and contingency prizes, which totaled over $600 in certificates and actual products.

In 2007, the O’Reilly MSRA contested 16 events at 8 different facilities with 10 different drivers finding their way into victory lane.

Series Founder, Chris Ellis, announced that several new sponsors have been signed on for the 2008 season including the title sponsor, O’Reilly Auto Parts. It was also announced that MSR Mafia Marketing Service has come on board for 2008 to provide the new website at www.MSRADirt.com as well as press release services. Ellis concluded the banquet by “thanking all of the sponsors, tracks, drivers, and fans that made the inaugural season for the O’Reilly MSRA a great success.”
