ADA, OH (12/15/09) – After a successful 2009 campaigned that included ten wins, a Sunoco American Late Model Series (ALMS) championship, and an 8th place finish in the UMP National points standings, Jon Henry has decided to part ways with the Bluffton, Ohio-based Halcomb Racing.

“I have made a decision to go a different direction in 2010 to try to further my racing career,” stated Henry, the 2009 UMP National Dirt Late Rookie of the year. “It was a personal decision that I have made and it was a very difficult one.”

In his first full season behind the wheel of a Dirt Late Model, Henry was nothing short of spectacular netting ten feature wins and 32 top five finishes en route to an 8th place finish in the final UMP National Late Model points tally, just one point out of 7th. Henry also had the honor of being crowned the Sunoco American Late Models Series (ALMS) Champion in addition to being named the 2009 UMP National Dirt Late Model Rookie of the Year.

“I would like to thank Shane and Jennifer Halcomb for the success that we have achieved over the last year-and-a-half together.” Henry said. “I would also like to thank all my sponsors and supporters. I will continue to do everything I can to take you with me on the next step in this journey.”

Henry continued, “The possibilities for 2010 are endless. The opportunity to do some ARCA testing is within my reach, but I would first like to secure a fulltime Late Model ride with a well-established team.”
