(BENTON, MISSOURI) The Mack Racing, Inc. team and young Dirt Late Model driver Joey Mack found victory lane for the second time this season at the Poplar Bluff Speedway in Poplar Bluff, Missouri last Saturday night, May 13. Joey, who resides in Benton, Missouri, won his heat race on a last lap pass for the win to transfer to the feature event. The driver of the High’s Gift Shop / Boomland / Bollinger Auto #97m GRT / Kuntz machine then led every lap of the A-Main to take the exciting feature win over Billy James, Billy Moyer, Todd Hall, and Gary Stolba. Joey also took the win at the Poplar Bluff oval back on March 25.

“It was a great night for us and our car worked really well from the time we unloaded,” commented Mack earlier today in a phone conversation. “The car count was high for Poplar Bluff and there was a great field of cars, so that makes the win even sweeter. Anytime you line up against Billy Moyer, Gary Stolba, Steve Rushin, and some of those other guys, your equipment has to be pretty good to come out on top. Hopefully, we can parlay this win and some of the other strong runs we have had this year and get on a roll.”

Joey has competed in nine Dirt Late Model events so far in 2006 and has very impressive numbers to date. He has reached victory lane on two occasions (both at Poplar Bluff), registered four Top Five finishes, and scored seven Top Ten runs. In Mid-America Racing Series (MARS) action, Joey has recorded three Top Ten efforts in the five series events held thus far in 2006. He currently finds himself twelfth in the ultra-competitive MARS point standings.

The Mack Racing, Inc. team has two events left on their schedule for the month of May. This Saturday, May 20, Joey and the team will make their first appearance of the year at the Checkered Flag Speedway in Hohenwald, Tennessee. A $3,000 to win Southern Regional Racing Series event is on tap at the Volunteer State oval. Their final event of the month will take place on May 27 at the Monticello Speedway in Monticello, Arkansas. The unsanctioned ‘Memorial Day Late Model Shootout’ will take place at Monticello over the Memorial Day holiday weekend and a $5,000 top prize is up for grabs.
