(ASHLAND, KENTUCKY) The Josh McGuire Racing team, with young and talented wheelman Josh McGuire behind the wheel of their #41 Rayburn / Gaerte machine, racked up two impressive Top Five finishes over the weekend! At the Rocky Top Raceway in Coal Grove, Ohio on Friday night, April 28, Josh won the dash and led several laps in the A-Main before succumbing to eventual winner R.J. Conley. The young Ashland, Kentucky native wound up finishing in the runner-up spot behind Conley in the $1,200 to win main event!
The team then headed to the K-C Raceway in Chillicothe, Ohio on Saturday for a $2,000 to win event. With a star-studded field of Dirt Late Models in the pit area, Josh finished second in his heat and drew the number two pill to earn an outside front row starting spot for the A-Main. Despite sliding up the venerable speedway in the opening laps and losing some valuable positions, Josh regained his composure and started running back down the leaders. At the end of the feature event, Josh had climbed back up to the fifth spot and was knocking on the door for the fourth position with his ultra-fast racecar.
“It was a great weekend for us, but I feel that our car was probably good enough to win on Friday and run in the top three on Saturday,” commented McGuire today via telephone. “But, we were able to get a lot of laps under our belt against some great competition. I pulled up into the pit area at K-C on Saturday and wondered if I was at the right race or not, because of all of the competition there for a weekly show. We learned a lot of things over the weekend that will hopefully help us as the season progresses. I have to thank all of my crew and sponsors for their continued support and dedication to the race team!”

The Rocky Top (OH) Raceway will be the track of choice this Friday, May 5, as another $1,200 top prize is up for grabs.
