Pontoon Beach, IL (June 28, 2006) Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL will bring dirt late model fans an exciting month of July as they present four dirt late model special events. It kicks off this Sunday, July 2nd when the UMP Late Models will run for a special $2,000 to win top prize in an event presented by Cornwell Tools around the 1/4 mile oval. There will also be a special $500 to win King of the Hill Dash which features one on one elimination races to determine the winner.
Then, on Sunday, July 9th, the UMP Summer Nationals tour rolls into Tri-City Speedway for a big $10,000 to win event around the big 1/2 mile oval. The Summer Nationals feature some of the top Midwest late model drivers in a grueling 27 races in just 30 days.
After a regular weekly show on July 16th, the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series makes a visit to Tri-City Speedway on July 23rd. This event will also give $10,000 to the winner and will feature Nationally known late model drivers such Earl Pearson, Jr., Don O'Neal, Donnie Moran and Matt Miller.
Then, to close out the month, the MARS Late Model Series rolls into Tri-City Speedway on Sunday, July 30th for a special $3,000 to win event on the 1/4 mile oval. See some of Missouri, Arkansas and Illinois best drivers such as Terry Phillips, Wendell Wallace and Bill Frye.
The UMP Modified division will run at all four of the special events and will pay $1,000 to win at all four events.
