(NORMAN, INDIANA) The Justin Blackwell Racing teams are gearing up for a busy upcoming weekend. Justin Blackwell will have the lighter racing schedule, as he is only scheduled to compete in one event this weekend. The BTI / Blackwell Limestone / KH Graphics #99 Rayburn / Pro Power Monte Carlo will be in action at the Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN for this year’s version of the ‘Hoosier Dirt Classic’. The HDC will pay out $7,000 to the winner this Saturday night and will be sanctioned by the new O’Reilly NARA Dirtcar Series. You can learn more about the event at Brownstown this weekend by logging on www.brownstownspeedway.com and www.naradirtcar.com.

Justin’s teammate Jim Curry will have a busy weekend, kicking off tomorrow night at the Kankakee Motor Speedway in Kankakee, IL. The track’s opening event will pay $5,000 to win. The 2003 Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Inductee is still trying to decide which event he is going to compete in on Saturday. Jim would like to follow the Stacker 2 Xtreme Dirtcar Series on a full-time basis this season and they race in Madison, NC on Saturday night for a $10,000 top prize. Jim is also considering staying close to home and hitting the ‘Hoosier Dirt Classic’ with Justin on Saturday and then going to the $2,000 Northern Allstar Late Model Series opener at the Scott County Fairgrounds in Scottsburg, IN on Sunday.

“Jim is still not sure of what his plans are for the weekend,” said car owner Justin Blackwell today. “He wants to run that Xtreme deal, but he loves Brownstown and always runs good there. I think he plans on going to Kankakee for sure on Friday, but who knows? It is always a last minute decision with him. I know that I am going to be at Brownstown on Saturday and hopefully I can get my car to perform like it did late in the race last week. I was rolling pretty good through the middle while everyone else was on the hub.”

Last weekend at Brownstown, Justin finished fourth in his heat race to get into the $1,000 to win feature event. He started mid-pack and near the end of the event, made a strong charge through the middle of the “black ice” to earn a sixth place finish at the tricky ¼-mile oval in south-central Indiana. His teammate, Jim Curry, had no luck last weekend when he traveled to the Florence Speedway in Union, KY for the ‘Spring 50’ weekend. Jim missed both shows, despite setting fifth fast time on Saturday night for the $10,000 to win feature.
