Pontoon Beach, IL (July 9, 2009) NASCAR veteran and St. Louis native Ken Schrader is scheduled to compete at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL this Friday, July 10th and the following Friday, July 17th. Schrader plans to compete in the Super Late Model division on both nights.
This Friday, July 10th, Tri-City Speedway features a weekly event featuring Super Late Models, Modifieds, UMP Pro Late Models, Street Stocks and Factory Stocks. There will also be a makeup feature for the UMP Pro Late Models from a rained out feature a couple of weeks ago. The makeup feature for the UMP Pro Late Models will start the action off this Friday. Admission is only $10 with kids 12 years and younger free.
Then on Friday, July 17th, Schrader will be at Tri-City Speedway to compete in the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series against some of the top Super Late Model drivers in the country including Scott Bloomquist, Earl Pearson, Jr., Billy Moyer, Shannon Babb, Jimmy Owens, Brian Birkhofer, Dale McDowell and many more. This $10,000 to win event kicks off with hotlaps at 6:30pm followed by qualifying and racing. Also on the racing card this night will be Modifieds, UMP Pro Late Models and Street Stocks. Admission will be $25 with kids 12 years and younger free.
Tri-City Speedway will also host a NASCAR Media Day on Thursday, July 16th from 11am to 3pm that is free and open to the public. NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers Kenny Wallace, Justin Allgaier and others will be on hand and will be giving rides in the 2-seat car to members of the media. There will be racecars on display and an autograph session for fans.
Tri-City Speedway is located just across the Mississippi River from St. Louis, MO just south of Interstate 270 at exit 4 (Route 203). Go south on Route 203 from Interstate 270 approximately 1/2 mile to Tri-City Speedway.
