Madison, IL - Gateway International Raceway announced that St. Louis native and
veteran NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace would run in the Busch Series 250 race at
Gateway on Saturday, July 21. Wallace will be running in the #2 car for Richard
Childress Racing, which has two career Busch Series victories at Gateway.

Wallace has nine wins, 10 poles, 63 top-five and 156 top-10 finishes in 383 career
NASCAR Busch Series starts since 1988. Wallace has one other start for Richard
Childress Racing, in the April 2002 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race at Martinsville
(Va.) Speedway.

Wallace will be driving a car that has had a history of success over the years at Gateway
with an average finish of 4th place in six of the past seven races at Gateway. Included in
this string were consecutive wins by Kevin Harvick in 2000-01. Ron Hornaday (2004)
and Clint Bowyer (2006) also notched runner-up finishes. Wallace is excited about the
opportunity for success at his hometown track.

"I have a dream coming true in going to my hometown of St. Louis and driving for
Richard Childress Racing," said Wallace. "I had two choices during that weekend off
from Cup racing -- I could run my St. Louis Cardinals dirt car or I could try to get a ride
for Gateway…and I really wanted to run Gateway. I try to treat Gateway like any other
race and I usually go there looking for a top-10 finish. Now, if I finish second, I'm going
to be bummed out. I just know, though, that if I win I'll have all of my high school
buddies and all my family in victory lane with me."
