Kentucky Lake making the decision to cut pay after August 1

I can't translate what you're trying to say hound... Please explain...

To many entry fees and top heavy pay outs I tried to tell you that before the flora race and I was an asshole for giving a suggestion I still say pay as much as you can an don't put it all on top and you will get more cars you will always get more cars without an entry fee

I don't ever recall calling you an asshole... I guess you're Not going to mod mania then since they have an entry fee?

I do agree about the entry fee, but Flora tried that last year with only paying $3000 to win and then they paid $2300, $2000, $1600, $1200 and paid $250 to start... Still only got 35 cars... I believe it's the location of the track.. You have that kind of race at Tri city or Fairbury you get 50++...

I'm not pissing on you rusty just asking a question... Kentucky lake had multiple races where AMS wasn't involved... They paid great... $5000 to win and 5th place was still $1000 and they didn't charge an entry.. 45 cars is what they got... Where was all the cars then... They did exactly what you're saying to do and it didn't work...

I just want this mod class to be successful... The late models can afford to only have 25-30 cars because they draw the crowd... Modifieds not so much and I've never understood that.. Mods put on as good of a show as anyone especially the bigger races.. Not sure why the fans don't follow mods closer??

AMS race did charge extra fees at klms, you had to pay to get in and pay ams, we raced there slot this year and won a lot, but they enforce no rules and track conditions are less then desirable are what everyone complains about that was running there and yes it's higher priced to get in then normal but the purses are higher also, but if you look across the country at car counts, ump track car counts are down everywhere, imca and usra mod tracks have 30 car average in every class on any night, they have affordable tires and engine rules and they enforce them, sooner or later tracks around here need to take a look at what other tracks do to make it work and make a change, some won't like it at first but change is needed in ump

Kentucky lake did have there own purse before AMS and it was a lot better then what AMS pays, but they couldn't get a car count on there own, so they was hoping to get a few extra cars from the guys that run there series... Kentucky lake last year had a incredible payout, but the cars didn't support it and that's why they went AMS...

Some of it is location size of the tracks the way they prep the track time of year what other specials are going on how your treated when your there last time we were at flora all the money got stolen out of our trailer while we were racing and when I went to ky lake the promoter was a dick when I was waiting to get my check I wasn't trying to put that negative plublicity out there but that factors into it along with not liking entry fees

Sounds to me like you have a dark cloud over your head... I understand your frustration about getting money stole out of your trailer.. My advice to you is this day and age I wouldn't leave money or anything like that loose in a open trailer.. I know you should be able to, but we all know what this world has come to... It happens everywhere.. Something like that happened to us at one of the St. Louis tracks.... Do I hold the owner responsible for that?? NO!! I just learned and lock things up now... It was my stupidity... I learned after the 1st time... That don't keep me from going to the track though because I know they didn't Have anything to do with it..

I totally understand the promoter being a jerk also... See a lot of that for some reason... You would think they would appreciate you being there... I had nothing to do with the race this past weekend at Flora, but the guys I contacted about the race and the ones that showed up I sent a message to them saying thanks for coming on Sunday... I can't stress enough how much I enjoy the mods and it was awesome to see them 5 miles from my house... I'm usually loading my boys up and either driving to St. Louis area, Kentucky lake, Fairbury or farmer city... We've even drive to lawrenceburg for a mod race which is 5 hours.... Just want this class to get where the late models are, but I'm having my doubts... The money these guys spend on there cars they're not to far behind the late model guys... Spectator wise they have a long way to go..

the problem with KLMS has always been the track and the wear and tear on the cars. part of it is location to but they also need too look at schedules the days of just throwing out a special and expecting a lot of cars to show up are over. the shape of the track is not very good for racing either. that being said we always had fun going there even when they were running til 330am at end of oct lol

I think a lot of the problem is the cost in racing is getting out of hand and I know when I say this I will make some people mad but I think the racers have done this to themselves. UMP is also to blame for letting the rules get out of hand. When the UMP mod was class was started it was a really good idea. They started out where an average racer could be competitive and then UMP let the rules go by the wayside.Like I have always said the guys with the money are going to find ways to go fast, that is why you have to enforce the rules to have a level playing field. When the UMP mod class started out it was a good class that has gotten out of hand and it seems it is that way in all divisions. I am 49 years old and have been going to dirt races all my life and if things don't change I don't know how long that will last.

Cost plays a huge part in the car counts. Being in the St. Louis area you have a much wider population to draw from. Route 45 does not have that kind of demographics to appeal to. When there are becoming less and less racers because they can't afford it, you are not going to get big car counts. We would love to be on the track racing but the cost to be competitive is far too much to justify the added stress it puts on me and my family. I hope things change in the near future or you are going to see the sport we all love so much continue to dwindle.

I agree to a point about racers doing this to themselves.. The ones with money I should say.. It's crazy what some of these guys spend on chassis & motors... UMP adjusting rules also sucks especially with the tire issue.. I wish they would go with 1 tire and that's it... Let them decide which one and go with it.. When a racer can sell his used chassis for $20,000+ that's ridiculous.. UMP can make it easier on a lot of lower budget guys with the tire rule.. Give it time and the B mods class will be where the mod guys are..

explain fairbury DMR 22 and I do remember nights in the 90s at St charles when 5 lates would show up and there are too many classes now a days b mods sportsman street stocks come on the lap times are very similar

It definitely takes a lot of work and time to build up like Fairbury has. They have a huge following, the entire community is behind them every week and they produce phenomenal racing every week. I am not saying Route 45 can not do it but it is definitely not going to be easy or quick. I think B.J. is doing a fantastic job with Route 45 but I hope he is able to get through the rough parts to reap the benefits. The cost of the sport is not going to help introduce new drivers either unless they are regularly around the sport and can justify the cost.

here is food for is the biiger paying mod shows good for the sport or bad ,if it paid like a weekly all the time the tendency to build the higher price cars might be deterred
