Saturday October 20th the Race Brothers Show-Me Racin Series was in action at the 28th annual Spooker at the Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, OK. Twenty-eight late models lined the pits ready to put on some exciting racing action. The stands were jam-packed when the first heats of the night pulled out onto the track. The 56 of Conner Ward took the win in heat one. Heat two went to the 11 of Jarrod Hilton. Rick Lebow came away with the win in heat three. The 5e of Leslie Essary won the fourth and final heat of the night.
Twelve cars were left to fight for the four transfer positions in the A-main. The race was on and the 55 of Ken Essary came away with the win in the B-feature. Roger Wilson in the 77 took second, the 72w of Jake Williams finished third, and the 99c of Don Cloyd came away with the fourth and final transfer position. The two point provisional positions were the 5m of Tyler Milner and the 29 of Chris Powell.
Twenty-two cars lined up for the start of main event of the night. The 13 of Kevin Patrick would set the pace from the pole position. The green flew and the 13 was in the lead. Caution flew on lap four for the 04 of Jeremy Kelley and the 27 of Kenny Hartwigsen. The boys lined back up and it was back to racing. A couple more laps went by before the red flag was thrown for the 04 of Jeremy Kelley in turn three. The green fell but the yellow was thrown yet again for the 5m of Tyler Milner and the 27 of Kenny Hartwigsen in turn one. Ten laps down and Kevin Patrick was still in the lead. The green was out but the red immediately followed for the 77 of Roger Wilson and the 72w of Jake Williams. The 13 still had the lead but the 83 of Chuck Comer and the 5e of Leslie Essary were applying pressure from second and third. Sixteen laps down and the 5e had taken away the second position and was charging for the lead with the 83 and 00 of Jim Fulp behind him. Due to time constraints the checkered flag was thrown on lap twenty with the 13 of Kevin Patrick winning the 28th annual Spooker. The top five were; the 13 of Kevin Patrick, the 5e of Leslie Essary, the 83 of Chuck Comer, the 00 of Jim Fulp, and the 113 of Rick Wallis.
The 2007 Race Brothers Show-Me Racin Series season is over. The banquet will be held in Branson, MO at Playtime Pizza, located across the road from Branson Meadows Mall at 3101 Gretna Road on November 4. Dinner will begin at 2:00 p.m. with awards to follow.
