(CALVERT CITY, KENTUCKY) The inaugural ‘Battle of the Mods’ is getting bigger by the day! The three-day Open Wheel Modified spectacular, which will be held on October 11-13 at the Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky, is drawing interest from top dirt aces from around the country. In addition, NASCAR stars Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace have recently expressed their intentions in competing in each of the $5,000 to win Open Wheel Modified events this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening.
The unsanctioned ‘Battle of the Mods’ will use a pill draw / passing points format during each of the three shows, with the winner each night automatically advancing to the A-Main the next evening. A $5,000 top prize is on the line each night in a 30-lap feature event. Also on the card with the Open Wheel Modifieds will be the ever-popular Dirt Late Model division. A $2,000 winner’s share is up for grabs each night for the full-bodied, 750+ horsepower Dirt Late Models.
