Beloit, KS - 2009 POWRi Speedway Motors National Midget champion Brad Kuhn of Avon, Indiana driving the number 17 RW Motorsports Beast Chassis Fontana powered midget captured Friday nights 1st annual “Chad McDaniel Memorial” at the Solomon Valley Raceway in Beloit, KS sanctioned by POWRi. Brad started 2nd row outside and on lap 26 passed Zach Daum on the top after trading slide jobs and led the remaining 4 laps for the win. Brad Loyet who started in the 6th position, made his way through the field chasing Daum and Kuhn and settled for third. Rounding out the top 5 were Austin Brown and Matt Sherrell who started 17th and won the hard charger award.
Jeremy Camp of Blue Mound, IL won the 20 lap Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Sprint portion of the “Chad McDaniel Memorial”. Camp started 2nd row outside and chased down Blake Hahn of Tulsa, OK and lap 14 passed Hahn for the lead and led the final 6 laps for the win. Andrew Felker, who started on the pole led laps 1 through 5 and finished third. Rounding out the top five were Brandon Hahn and Nate Fleming.
