FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – August 26, 2014 - Four races; that is all that remains for the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products sprint car division and the tour will complete two of those events this coming Labor Day weekend. It all kicks off this coming Saturday night, August 30, at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas. From there the tour will head north on Hwy 81 to the Belleville High Banks in Belleville, Kansas for their traditional Labor Day Sunday event.
The series’ modified and late model divisions will also be competing in Belleville.
Former tour champion Jeremy Campbell comes into the weekend with a very slim thirty-five point lead over defending champion C.J. Johnson. While motor gremlins has caused some tense moments and despite having reached victory lane thus far this season, Campbell has been able to put together consistent top ten finishes that has put him at the top of the standings. Johnson picked up his lone win of the 2014 race season at Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kansas and has also seen several misfortunes that have him second in the standings.
Sitting third and still a shot at the championship is Jon Freeman. He is 330 points out of the lead and with a stop in McCool, Nebraska with another sanctioning body; chances are there for him to pick up his first career championship.
A string of consistent finishes and his first career series victory has Jeff Stasa sitting fourth in the standings. Current rookie of the year point leader Jake Greider sits fifth in the standings, followed by Raymond Seeman, Jake Martens, Jack Dover and Luke Cranston. Dover currently has the most wins during the season (four) in the six events he has competed.
