When Howard Schrock decided to build Lake Ozark Speedway (LOS) in Eldon , MO, his goal was to make it equally popular with the drivers as well as the fans. With that in mind, he knew that in order to fill the stands, he would need to build a first class facility with all of the latest amenities. When that huge task was completed just two weeks ago, his next goal was to attract the top drivers in the area. As an ex-racer himself, Howard knew that the key to high car counts was a good weekly purse as well as a point fund that would award all of the drivers that run the majority of the season, not just the top point earners. Knowing that, he created a purse structure and point fund that rivals all other tracks in the area. With a weekly 360 Sprint Car purse of $7100 ($1200 to win & $200 to start the “A”) and the combined purses for the other classes topping well over $4500, the drivers have given their approval by supplying LOS with some great car counts in the first two weeks of operation. The lucrative point fund is being made possible by Hoosier, Sunoco, Allen Autosports Gaerte Engines along with others that will be announced in the very near future. To date, the 360 Sprint Car point fund has already reached $15,500 in cash, along with 2 new Maxim “Big Max” chassis. Gaerte Engines will also be making a generous contribution. To date, the Modified point fund is $3000 along with a new Allen Autosports modified chassis. The Street Stock point fund to date is $2500. These point funds will continue to grow from our growing list of sponsors, along with half of the weekly 50/50 drawings. So the stage is set for the fans and the racers to have a great year of racing at LOS.
