Stanley Tops Big Sprint Field at LOS

With a huge field of thirty-eight sprint cars on hand Saturday night to race with the O’Reilly Auto Parts/American Compressed Steel/Hoosier Winged Outlaw Warriors, Jeff Stanley picked up his first career WOW win in the group’s first ever trip to Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, MO.
Curtis Boyer jumped out into the lead from his outside starting position followed by pole-sitter Curtis Evans. Boyer would continue to lead the field, but a big battle ensued for the second position between Evans, Eric Jobe, Jeff Stanley, Tracy Nichols, and Randy Martin. The group swapped positions numerous times on laps five and six with rookie Dustin Barks joining the fray by lap seven. By lap eight, Boyer continued to lead, but Stanley had worked his way into the second position followed by Jobe, Nichols, Martin, Evans, and Barks. On lap ten, Stanley, who was running the bottom groove to perfection, worked his way past Boyer and into the lead. Stanley would continue to be chased by Boyer, who was now feeling pressure from Nichols. On lap thirteen, Nichols was able to get underneath the high-running Boyer into the second position. By lap fifteen, Barks had worked his way into the top five and was able to get by Boyer for third followed by Martin in fifth. Stanley continued his great run with a near straightaway win, followed by Nichols and a fast-closing Barks. Boyer would hold onto fourth and Martin rounded out the top five. Lanny Carpenter, who faded early, worked his way back to a sixth place finish, followed by Jobe, Frank Brown, Brad Best, and Evans.
The Winged Outlaw Warriors now look forward to two nights of racing next weekend with a Saturday, May 27th show at Moberly Raceway in Moberly, MO for the Gary Scott Memorial and the Woody Carpenter Memorial at Double X Speedway in California, MO on Sunday, May 28th.

On lap five, the fifth running Maycock and sixth running Brown would get together with Brown suffering too much damage to continue and the yellow coming out. Maycock suffered major front wing damage, but would continue. Lap six would have its action with Faron Crank running full speed through the infield and finally coming to a stop to bring out the yellow. At the same time, his brother Tony had spun in turn one after contact with another car. On lap eight, Brandon Gray was able to overtake Sutton for second and with the white flag showing, he would rocket by Schrock on the bottom of the track and go on to victory.
