OCALA, FL (2-25-12) By Brian Liskai Danny Lasoski couldn t ask for a better start to the 2012 racing season. Lasoski, who calls Ocala home during the winter, scored his fourth win of the year and his third with the University of Northwestern Ohio All Star Circuit of Champions at Bubba Raceway Park Saturday.

The final of a three-night stand for the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions at Bubba Raceway Park was exciting. Three-time and defending All Star champion Tim Shaffer would grab the early lead with Lasoski applying pressure. As Lasoski tried to slide around Shaffer for the lead, Danny Holtgraver would drive under both to take the top spot early in the 30-lap event. Shaffer would use the high line to retake the lead, but it was short lived as he tangled with a lapped car, ending his night and giving the lead to Lasoski. The Dude would check out the remaining 24 laps for his 36th career victory with the UNOH All Stars, moving him into a tie for 13th on the series all-time win list with Steve Kinser, just one victory away from Doug Wolfgang.

Bubba had the track in great shape tonight you could race the top or bottom you just had to have the car right, said Lasoski. Shaffer (Tim) got out front and I was trying to work the top and that Holtgraver (Danny) kid got by me. I said it s time to get after it and I got back by him and then Shaffer got together that that lapped car. After that it was a matter of keeping my momentum up and working traffic. What a way to start the season. I can t wait to get back to racing in Pennsylvania.

Lasoski, who drove his own #33 for the races in Georgia and Florida, but will joining the Chiappelli/Grubb Motorsports #98 to compete in Pennsylvania and other select shows throughout 2012.

I have to thank Triple X Chassis, Kistler Engines, Creason Construction and Klein Motors and RVs for their help down in Florida. I will be racing with the new team with the All Stars when they come to Port Royal and Williams Grove, said Lasoski.
East Berlin, Pennsylvania s Aaron Ott would wrap up his Florida racing with a solid second place run aboard his Hamilton Motorsports, Don Ott Engines, Miller Bros. Chevrolet backed #77.
It wasn t a bad Florida for us. It was hard to be consistent, but I think we gained every night and I m excited about our second place run. We will get back to racing in Pennsylvania next weekend with some momentum, said Ott. Once I got by Danny (Holtgraver) I tried to get to the top and hit my marks. I couldn t even see Danny (Lasoski) once I got into second. He s been great down here, so to run second to him I can t complain. Holtgraver, who hails from Pittsburgh, Pa., was also excited about his third place finish.

I got to battle for the lead with Tim Shaffer and Danny Lasoski how cool is that? My hat s off to Bubba..he worked his butt off on this track all weekend and gave us a great track to race on tonight, said Holtgraver beside his Spinneweber Auto Sales, Buckeye Steering backed D4.

Shaffer and Lasoski would pace the field to the green with Shaffer grabbing the lead. Lasoski would try a slider on Shaffer on the second lap and Holtgraver would drive under both to take the lead. Shaffer would hit lapped traffic by the fifth circuit literally. The Steel City Outlaw made contact with George Riden in turn one and would retire to the pits.

The restart saw Holtgraver leading Lasoski, Ott, David Gravel and Fred Rahmer. On the restart, Lasoski would drive under Holtgraver to grab the lead. The race would remain green the rest of the distance and Lasoski did a masterful job navigating through traffic for the win. Ott, Holtgraver, Greg Hodnett (up from 12th) and Rahmer would round out the top five.

The UNOH All Stars, after seven great races in the south, will head to the Midwest for the traditional Spring Nationals at Attica Raceway Park on April 6 and 7.
