Last post for '57 Chevy

I have had LOTS of responses to the '57 Chevy ad. Lots of questions I will just try to answer all of them here.

The chassis is a 74 model Monte Carlo. Pretty much all stock suspension. Has been around since the middle 80's and has run about every season since. It has some bruises and scuffs. but its usable. It has 373 gears in the 10 bolt rear. Racing springs. Fuel cell. Steering is there but no steering quickener. Aluminum seat. There are 8 tires and wheels, including the 4 on the car. Drive shaft. Pretty much a true roller.

The body has lots of surface rust but no major holes. Pretty straight. You will need to finish mounting the body but the hard work is done. There are no front fenders or hood or chrome bumpers. There is a trunk lid. What you see in the pics is what you get.

You will need motor, transmission, radiator.

Some things I could use as trading material are 2 speed power glide transmission. Good running small block Chevy motor. (no 305's). Good older minivan or small car. I have a son turning 16 this fall. Hydraulic throwout bearing for Chevy. 8 inch by 5x5 modified wheels. Aluminum intake. Modern RC car equipment. I have a Modified and I am also rebuilding a vintage Gremlin modified that needs what little time I have to spend on racing.

I've had lots of emails and pm's about this car. So I'll post a more recent picture of it. The body is solidly mounted. Trunk lid is mounted and pinned. Interior sheet metal work is done. There are NO front fenders included. What you see is what you get. Wouldn't take much to finish it at this point. Price dropping to $1000. If you are interested in this car, and you are motivated, we will work something out. Call me at 573 887 3668 to discuss details.

57 chevy

Has this car sold yet?

If you could email me at stickschevyshed@yahoo.com I would appreciate it or call me at 636-285-4311. I know that my dad was looking to build a 57 racecar and this would be a great starter.

Please let me know one way or another.

Thank you,
Carrie

Would this car be legal with the Gateway Vintage Racing Assoc being that it was built on a streetstock frame?
Their rules state:

Frames and Chassis

1. Any stock or hand made frame of at least 2 X 4 steel, .120 thickness may be used. Stock frames may be modified. Frames must extend from the front of the front wheels to the rear of the body. All Original, Square tube or Home Built frames accepted or checked by members.

2. Wheelbase minimum 99 inches-maximum 115 inches.

3. NO late model or modified frames.

4. NO street stocks.
