St. Louis area racers Ed Dixon and Ken Schrader made the trip last year down to Johnny Stokes' high banked Columbus Speedway with Schrader having an excellent run with a 2nd place finish behind Mississippi superstar Anthony Rushing.
Dixon had an strong second quick qualifying effort but succumbed to mechanical issues after he and Bill Frye had contact while battling for fourth position.
St. Louis area fans should find the multi groove along with the wall riding and cushion racing at Columbus Speedway quite familiar and midwestern racers have shown to quickly adapt to the Columbus Speedway highbanks.
This year's holiday weekend should be a good way to spend the Thanksgiving weekend for fans and race teams alike before hanging up the racing gear for the winter after a weekend at the Baddest Bullring in the South.
