"Greetings & Salutations"
For any Stl-area fans thinking about hitting the road for some Western Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Oklahoma, or KC-area racin' action this fall, I've cut and pasted part of my racinboys post on remaining races out this way. Sadly, the WDRL race at Sedalia State Fair Speedway that Ed Dixon and John Seets came to last year has been removed from the schedule. However, the race at KC's Lakeside Speedway, which is held on the same weekend as NASCAR at KC Speedway (Oct 8th and 9th) should be huge. Although the payout is not that "big" to Stl-area LM fans, there were 71 cars at this event last year with Terry Phillips taking the checkers.
Perhaps Ed Dixon will pull to the MLRA finale again down at Coffeyville as he did last year??? Enjoy!!!

The Bill Willard Memorial race at I44 is no longer the same week as the Pepsi Nationals at Pevely. Hopefully this will lead to some series "jumping" and perhaps some X/UMP boys heading down to I-44.
Montgomery County up at New Florence, MO, will be running late in the season after most tracks shut down. Their Website says they will run all Saturday nights in September and the first week of October as well. Stl.-area racers have a "late" track to run at for the valuable UMP points.
Can't wait for the Lakeside WDRL versus MLRA Late Model race weekend, they had 71 LMs last year, hopefully even more this year. Will Shrader and Elliott be there in Late Models???
If anyone has any questions about any of this stuff e-mail me. As a displaced followe of all things UMP I've tried to learn as much as possible about the "western" side of the midwest and all the tracks and series. We are so starved for LM racing out here it's not even funny. Maybe and hopefully, the whole X/UMP merger will help our situation!
