Inside Line Promotions - KILGORE, Texas (April 23, 2019) - Zane Lawrence recorded his second straight top-10 result last Saturday at LoneStar Speedway.

Lawrence piloted his family owned sprint car during the Sprint Car Bandits Series event at the high-banked oval, where he maneuvered from ninth to fifth place in a heat race. That lined him up on the outside of the seventh row for the A Main.

"On the opening lap I got caught up with another car and knocked the nose wing off and bent the front end," he said. "It hurt me, but it was still rolling pretty good. I got up to fourth, but restarts killed me with no front wing. Going into turn one behind people would make it tight and shove toward the wall."

Lawrence, who was forced to restart near the back of the field following the opening-lap incident, rallied inside the top five before he lost a trio of positions during a late-race restart. He held on for a seventh-place outing.

"I was pretty impressed for the state the car was in and how it finished," he said.

Next up for Lawrence is an ASCS Lone Star Region race this Saturday at Rose Bowl Speedway in Winona, Texas.

"The last time I was there I was leading and had a right rear tire go down," he said. "That's been the only time I've raced there. It's a fun little race track. I'm looking forward to going back."
