Lebanon,Mo.-The Racing program at the I-44 Speedway fell to the final rain storm that fell at 8:45 with just 3 heat races left before the break Sat.Night.

With a small drizzle falling just before the Gates opened at 5,Track owner Randy mooneyham went ahead and attempted to get the full race show in Sat Night as over 85 Race teams checked into the pits for racing action. The drivers all pulled together to help pack the track in,and Hotlaps started around 7 on time.During the Modified practice, the rain came again, and left as fast as it came in,and all teams once again helped to get the track race ready.

With a normal starting time at 7:30,the first race came out at 8:15 and action continued fast until the final storm moved in wiping out the racing card.Things will start completely over next Sat.Night as rainchecks will be honored as not all the heats were finished.

In other Speedway news, the Bolivar and I-44 Speedways have announced a new qualifying system for the Late model Class and a different payout structure.

The Super LateModels will be drawing every night at both tracks and a dice roll will determine the field inversion from the heats and the LateModels will still continue to pay 1000 to the winner at Lebanon and 125 to start, while Bolivar will still pay 750 to win and 125 to start the feature.

"We feel in this time and day, that this is the best move for our Late Model program as with many traveling series in the area, the drivers have a wide choice, and this is good feedback from our drivers who race fulltime with us along with those who don't," said track promoter Randy Mooneyham
