Lebanon Midway Speedway will host the FASTRAK Midwest Touring Region this Friday night, May 9th for a big $1,200 to win event. “FASTRAK Midwest is pleased to return to The Midway for a great night of racing. This will be our first big race at Midway since the track was part of the Missouri Triple Crown held in 2005.”, stated Tracy Cottrell, FASTRAK Midwest Regional Director. Midway held Night 1 of the Triple Crown and drivers from all over the United States were in attendance to compete in a series of 3 back to back races.
The Midwest Region has had a great start for the 2008 racing season. Drivers are already furiously competing for the Regional Championship purse of $10,000. Returning Regional Champion, Darin Walker #24, Bowling Green, MO will be working hard to keep his title. Shawn Rayfield #18R, O’Fallon, MO is coming to the event as the winner of the huge $5,000 to win race held in Malden, MO on April 18th and 19th. Since that race, Shawn has been a consistent front runner at his local track.
Other returning drivers from the Midwest Region will include; #28 Dallas Bennett and #22 Darrell Moser both from New Haven, MO; #16 Ashlee Lancaster from Columbia, MO (the only female driver in the FASTRAK series); and #50 Ed Dixon from Washington, MO. Billy James #17 is coming to the event as the Midwest Region points leader and is hoping to keep his winning streak going.
Prior to the Main Feature, there will be driver introductions from the track. Following the introductions, drivers will throw tennis balls containing cash to the fans! “Fans are important to FASTRAK and we appreciate their loyalty and dedication. This is one small token of our appreciation.”, stated Co-Director Stacey Cottrell.
