LebanonMidway Sat Shootout Finds Jackson grabbong Mod Main/Sing Sneaks By Enduro Win

Lebanon,Mo.-LebanonmidwaySpeedway hosted a special sat Night shootout event with 4 classes competing and over 70 cars in the pits with a supersmooth surface and close racing all evening long.
The Bombers took to the track after 3 very tough qualifying races and it was DAvid Nash grabbing the early lead with Brian Monnahan close behind as veteran Jon Muilenburg began his charge.On lap 8,Monnahan moved around Nash as Muilenburg followed and then on the next lap made a low groove move to grab the lead.Back in the field,Donnie Gennings was charging from his 14th starting spot and rookie Tyler Brown had his car coming from 18th spot on the start to the front quickly.With Muilenburg setting a fast pace,all eyes were on Gennings as we was making alot of ground up quickly.Richard Roberts had his car settled into third place most of the 20 lap feature.Heading for the white flag,Muilenburg was in control with Gennings applying pressure as a wild crash happened behind the leaders suffling the standings as Muilenburg took the stationwagon home the winner followed closely by Gennings,Richard Roberts,Shawn Winfrey and Chad Cromer at the line.Following tech-Muilenburgs car didn't pass the vacuum test giving Gennings the win.
The Mighty Modifieds roared 20 strong onto the Midway with Kevin Halderman and Mike Montague bringing the field down to the green for the 25 lap feature.Montague hook to the top as Halderman shot to the inside as Tony Jackson Jr was battling Dean Willie for third place.On lap 3,Halderman got crossed-up as collected James McMillian.Halderamn went to the pits and returned while McMillian was done for the night.On the restart,Montague moved back up the track as Jackson Jr powered down low and grabbed the lead as James Hartman moved into 3rd place.On lap 9,Bob Test looped it in turn 2 bringing out the yellow.On the restart,Montague pulled-up to Jackson's back bumper and looked to the outside groove as Hartman,Willie,point champion Jamie Ragland and Eric Hudson were battling back and forth along with Steve Muilenburg as Halderman and Test were charging hard.Up front Jackson fought off several challanges from Montague to claim the feature win as Montague,Hartman,Hudson, and Ragland completed the top 5.
"The car has been so strong lately and the competition is tougher each week in the Modifieds."quoted winner Jackson."I was thinking about heading to batesville next weeked,but the way this car is working,I might just be here for the Modified $6,000 to win show.This will be some great racing next weekend,and it will be tough to make the field.Look at all the drivers that have been coming in here getting ready for this deal."
The Winged Sprint car feature had Clint Todd grab the early lead,but point champion Eric Todd moved to the highside.The red quickly was displayed as Gabe Maycock flipped his car.Earlier in the evening Maycock was running second and flipped in turn 1.THey pulled out the back-up car,but it just wasn't his night.On the restart,Eric shot to the outside and headed the field off turn 2 with Clint Todd,randy Roberts, and John Rowland in tow.Eric and Clint continued there battle up front as Roberts settled into third and on lap 16,Roberts found a groove that worked great as the 1R was gaining on the lead Eric.On lap 18,Roberts clsoed up to within 5 cars and was charging hard as Clint tries to overtake leader Eric.Heading for the white flag,Roberts made a late lung,but Eric and Clint finished 1-2 with Roberts,Joe Todd, and John Rowland in the top 5.
The Enduro feature took to the track as Mike Wamsley took the early lead on the 50 lapper as John Ketterer followed closely.Wamsley pulled away then Ketterer gained back as Preston Shivers,Lee Sing,Darren Jones, and Bob Anthony were battling for position.Ketterer would fall by the wayside as Wamsley pulled ahead.On lap 30,Lee Sing began his charge to the front as Midway Traffic was ahead of leader Wamsley.Steve Shaw began his charge and was as high as 4th before rolling his car in turn 3.The red was displayed with Wamsley the leader followed by Sing,Shivers,John Anthony had moved into contention after James and Bob Anthony collided on the frontstretch while running 3rd and 4th.On the standing still start,Wamsley pulled ahead,but Sing was coming quickly while John Anthony moved into 3rd place as Mike Uder was lurking in 4th and Shivers 5th.Uder would have a tire go flat ending his bid for a trophy.On lap 43,Sing moved around Wamsley and pulled away in grabbing the win followed by Wamsley,John Anthony, and Preston Shivers.
Next Weekend,Midway will present Modified Madness with a 2 day show as Friday night qualifying heats,a qualifying feature and pole dash for the Modifieds and Bombers will be racing.Sat Night qualifying heats ,a qualifying feature and the 50 lap feature paying $6,000 to the winner as Winged Sprints will also be racing on Sat Night.
