Lebanon,Mo.-The LebanonmidwaySpeedway has many things working right now and the 2006 season opener will be the 2 day Modified Madness on April 7th and Sat April 8th.

This 6000 to win 600 to start 50 lap event provided the top shorttrack open-wheel aces last season with a star-studded 26 car field.

The event format will be much like last season as Friday Night all Qualifying heats and a qualifying feature to lock-in 14 cars from Friday Night.

The heat race winners will advance to Sat Nights 50 lapper and will also run a pole dash to determine the front rows for Sat Night. Those drivers who finish 2nd,3rd and 4th(maybe even 5th) in the heats will run a 25 lap qualifying event in which the top 6 will make the 50 lapper.Local area Bombers will be running on the Friday Night version of this event a full show.

On Sat Night, drivers will draw again for heats and each winner will make the 50 lapper. Then there will be final qualifying feature to determine the 24 car field. The track will hold positions 25 and 26 for the highest 2 point cars in the tracks final standings from 2005 that haven't made the field yet.

Chad Kinder of Newton,ILL just barely made the field on Friday Night last season in the qualifying feature and came from 15th starting spot to grab the lead from Sean Williams and claim the 6000 prize. Also on Sat Night the Area Winged Warriors of the Midway 305 Sprint cars will be racing a full show on Sat Night.

Tire rules will be as follows-American Racer G60(grooving allowed),Hoosier A 40 and the new Hoosier IMCA G60(No Grooving).Weight will be 2400 lbs and with aluminum heads 50 lbs must be added with 25 lbs to each side of the front of the bell-housing.The Brand and type of tire that gets you into the 50 lapper is the same type that must be run in the Main event.
