Lebanon,Mo.-The officials at the LebanonMidwaySpeedway have announced plans to run the first ever Modified Madness on the Weekend of Sept 16-17 with the winner recieving $6000 to win while it will pay 600 to start the 50 lap feature.

"The Modifieds have really become a crowd favorite on the Midway and have really been putting on a great race show,so I wanted to try this deal to show them how much I appreciate the racing they do."Quoted Owner Harold Armstrong.

"We will start taking early entries on July 1st and will consider them early until Sept.1.The Entry fee for early entries will be $100 and a late fee will be 150.This event will pay 6000 to the winner with a little different format than the other big Modified shows have. All cars on Friday Night will draw for heat races and the number of cars will help determine how many heats. The winner of each heat will automatically go to Sat Night's Main Event. Those heat race winner will later on that evening run a pole dash as each winner will draw a number to see where they will start that dash at and the finishing order will determine how they line-up on the 50 lapper. On Friday night we will lock-in 14 cars of our 24 car starting field from the heat winners and if needed a qualifying race to get that number. Then those cars who have not qualified will get to draw on Sat Night and we will run heat races to get the remaining cars for the field.Bottom line is to get into the field of 24 while the track will leave at least 1 spot open for the highest Modified in the tracks point standings who hasn't yet qualified.

Aluminum heads will be allowed, but must add 50 lbs to the front up by the bellhousing with 25 pounds on each side.Tires allowed will be the American Racer G60 in which you will be allowed to groove or the Hoosier A40(NO Grooving allowed). One thing is that if you qualify on Hoosiers, you must run the feature on that Brand also.Weight will be 2400 Lbs. and Beadlocks will be allowed on both the right front and right rear.Pit passes at this time will be set for $30 each night. We still have some small details to work out and that will be ready in about 1 week or less. There will also be 1 support class running each night to be named later.
