My question is do you have to have a driver's license to race in the Sportsman division at I-55? I will be racing this year but don't want to get my license so I don't have to pay insurance. I know this is not normal for a 17 year old kid to not want his license but I need to know.

You should be fine. I was never asked for my ID when i started racing but then again i looked like i was 30.......lol.....But no you only have to be 16 to race. No need to show a drivers license. Maybe a state ID if you have one though. Hope this helps you.

I Know They Have Had Drivers Race Modifieds And Late Models Under Legal Driving Age. Don't Know If That Was Because They Were Ump?? But, Allied Had A 15 Year Old Purestock Racer At Belleville.
