St. Louis Rallyist and TW/100 Acre Wood Co-Chair Kim DeMotte co-drove for ex St. Louis Formula Ford racer Justin Pritchard to a pair of Group 2 wins at last weekend’s Sno and Drift Regional Rally-America Rallies in Lewiston and Atlanta Michigan.

DeMotte, a veteran co-driver normally found alongside Dennis Martin in a 400hp Mitsubishi Evo was with Pritchard this weekend because Martins car is still in a state of disrepair after an unfortunate off at Lake superior Pro Rally last October.

Of the 50+ cars in this weekend’s events, half of them were 2 wheel drive, Production, Group 5 or Group 2 entrants. Pritchard’s 1990 140 hp VW Golf drive in the 2 wheel category was second only to a 2004 Dodge SRT4 boasting about 170hp more than Pritchard’s and Doug Shepherd’s (some of you may remember Doug as John Buffum’s co-driver for about 10 years) 30 years of driving experience. All in all an extremely successful outing for the pair. Had they bothered to pay the National Rally Entry fee they would have DOMINATED Gr2 for national points. Lessons learned!

You can see Justin at the TW/100AW later this month with a stand-in co-driver, defending his current first place position in Rally-America’s Central Region Group 2 competition.

Also making the trip to the frozen north (-15F on Friday morning!) were Region members Curt Faigle, Joe Anthers, Doug and Abby Thomas and Mike and Sue Houser who were extremely valuable to the Sno*Drift organizers.
