Can someone suggest a good local machine shop ( I'm near south county ).

I'm building a 400 sbc to play with at gateway. Definitely a budget build.

Race Engine Shop

You might try Pro Craft Racing Engines in Granite City, IL. It is located right off of 255 and Horseshoe Lake Road. (10 Mins from Gateway) (618)797-1142. They are a professional race engine shop! Best in the St. Louis area.
 
Could try me. But I'm not local. I'm 35minutes east Of Mt. Vernon Ill. Wayne County Racing Engines.

what do you need done exactly im a machinist right down in green park literary 2 minutes away from you. i mainly do aircraft stuff but from time to time i get my hands dirty on engines in the shop

Best around they do work from all over the contry. When I was there the other day they showed me a rod bearing from a Late Model with 33 nights/races on it, it looked brand new. I have never seen anything like it. If you want quality work at a very resonable price there is no other place to go.
