6. 71b Chad Branson
7. 5ma Mallory Armfield
8. 79 Jim Doyle
NOTES: Fike had worked his way into second place until a tangle with Branson sent both drivers to the rear. Meseraull made a move on the final lap to beat Miller to the checkers.

HEAT #2 (10 laps):
LINE-UP:
51s Chris Sheil / 40 Nick Lundgreen
2d Mark Bush / 19x Terry Holliman
D-20 Derek Mungor / 20 Danny Lasoski

5. 2d Mark Bush
6. 1w Paul White (DNF)
7. 19x Terry Holliman (DNF)
8. 40 Nick Lundgreen (DNF)
NOTES: An expensive heat. Going into turn 1 on the start, Lundgreen tumbles and gets a tow to the pits. On the restart, Lasoski blasts to the front by going three-wide down the backstretch. Another caution waves when Holliman comes to a stop in turn 2. Then, on lap 3, White nips the inside berm exiting turn 2 and goes into a series of violent barrel-rolls. He is unhurt, but out of the race. Lasoski smokes the field the rest of the way.

7. 51n Mike Nigh
NOTES: A sleeper ... unless you are Davey Ray. He gets around Allgaier on lap 3 (just about the only pass of the race for any position) and brings home the win.

HEAT #6 (10 laps):
LINE-UP:
2i Luke Icke / 31 Donnie Lehmann
88 Dan Boorse / 94c Kevin Crowder
26 Glenn Carson / 4e Nick O'Neal

7. 8p Wally Pankratz (DNS)
NOTES: Lehmann gets a good jump on Icke, who bobbles and drops to fourth at the start. Lehmann wins, while defending Chili Bowl Champion Boorse is unable to make a move forward and finishes third.

HEAT #7 (10 laps):
LINE-UP:
2m Steve Buckwalter / 94 Brian Gerster
12 Billy Wease / 14c Tony Rossi
58 Cameron Beard / 33a Stephen Arnold
5c Joey Montgomery
FINISH:
1. 2m Steve Buckwalter
2. 5c Joey Montgomery
3. 94 Brian Gerster
4. 12 Billy Wease
5. 14c Tony Rossi
6. 58 Cameron Beard
7. 33a Stephen Arnold
NOTES: Buckwalter's engine just barely holds on and he takes the win in a puff of smoke. A great run from last to second by Mongomery - should earn him a great starting spot in tonight's A Main.

61a Toby Brown / 125 Teddy Beach
31c Derrick Crassi / 25x Boston Reid

HEAT #9 (10 laps):
LINE-UP:
87s Harley Slotten / 99w Korey Weyant
21k Kurt Mayhew / 5k Kenny Lewis
30 Craig Carey / 4x Don Droud Jr.
70 Garrett Hansen
FINISH:
1. 4x Don Droud Jr.
2. 99w Korey Weyant
3. 70 Garrett Hansen
4. 21k Kurt Mayhew
5. 87s Harley Slotten
6. 5k Kenny Lewis
7. 30 Craig Carey (DNF)
NOTES: Carey made a good move to get to third on the first lap, but got sideways in turn 2 and tipped over his sharp-looking new midget. Droud Jr. comes from sixth to take the win, earning lots of passing points - perhaps your A Main polesitter?
