Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series adds Colossal 100, Virginia and Dubuque

Officials of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, NC have reached an agreement for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to sanction the "Colossal 100" on Friday and Saturday, April 21st and 22nd. The mega event will pay $50,000 to win main event with a total purse of $200,000. It will be the second ever appearance at the Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series as last year Jackie Boggs of Grayson, KY won the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will return in October to the Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway for the Charlotte Late Model Nationals on October 12th. The Charlotte Late Model Nationals in 2006 will pay a minimum of $10k to win and will use the popular "Southern-fried Scramble" format which rewards the winning driver for each car passed on their way to victory

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series has also announced that Bill Sawyer's Virginia Motor Speedway has been added to the 2006 Schedule. The event at the ultra-modern Saluda, VA speed plant will take place on Saturday Night, June 24th with a cool $10,000 to win up for grabs. This brings the series to 34 events scheduled for the '06 season so far at 24 different race tracks. In 2005 the series made its' first ever visit to the track with Rick Eckert taking the win.

In other schedule news the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event at the Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway in Dubuque, IA has been moved from July 30th to Tuesday Night, August 8th.

The 2006 version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series revs up with 7 races in 9 days starting on Friday, February 3rd at the Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, GA as the season opener for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series takes to the Frankie Lloyd facility for a $10,000 to win event. Following two days off, the series heads for the 30th Annual East Bay Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL starting on Monday Night, February 6th. The race dates on February 6th, 7th, and 8th will all pay $5,000 to win. The February 9th event jumps to $7,000 to win, February 10th will pay $10,000 to win and the week's finale on February 11th will have a winner's purse of $12,000 to win. Over the seven race span the total purses will exceed $225,000.
