Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Announces TV Package and Schedule for 2012

WAYCROSS, GA (April 5, 2012) – Officials of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series are excited to announce the series’ Television Package and Airdates for the 2012 season. With an increase in viewership and overall ratings from the 2011 LOLMDS TV Races, the series will increase its TV airings for 2012.

The LOLMDS now has twenty-five (25) one-hour shows broadcasted on five different networks in 2012. The LOLMDS TV package includes one (1) event on CBS, one (1) event on CBS Sports, three (3) events on NBC Sports Network, ten (10) events broadcasted on SPEED, and ten (10) events on the MAVTV Network. A minimum of one (1) re-air on all SPEED and NBC Sports broadcasts will boost the LOLMDS total hours on TV to thirty-eight (38) in 2012.

Lucas Oil Production Studios will tape each event using state of the art HD cameras and the popular Helicopter Cam at most TV races. The TV package will also feature Cinema camera technology, In-car cameras, and the cut away car will be a part of the TV shows. The LOLMDS will air on the networks with an estimated 116 million households receiving CBS, 80 million receiving SPEED, 75 million receiving NBC Sports Network and 40 million households receiving MAVTV. Lucas Oil Products Inc. and its Team Lucas partners will reach new viewers and markets while providing the many loyal fans of the series an enormous HD TV package.

The first LOLMDS event to be taped for broadcast in 2012 will be the Commonwealth 100 at the beautiful Virginia Motor Speedway in Saluda, VA. This two-day mega event will take place on April 13th and 14th and pays $25,000 to the winner. The Commonwealth 100 will air on SPEED on Sunday May 13th at 6PM EST and also air on NBC Sports Network on Sunday June 10th at 6PM EST.

The television marquee event, The DART Show-Me 100 will be broadcasted on CBS as part of the CBS Sports Spectacular show again in 2012. The CBS Sports Spectacular is one of the oldest and longest running programs for sports on television, airing for the first time on January 3rd, 1960. The crown jewel event takes place on May 25th and 26th at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks, Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO. The event will air on Sunday June 24th at 2 PM EST. An additional airing of the event will be on CBS Sports on Saturday December 8th at 8PM EST.

The final event to be taped for broadcast in 2012 will be the season finale, the Dirt Track World Championship held on October 19th and 20th at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. This event will air on SPEED on Sunday November 18th at 2PM EST. The 2012 complete TV schedule with each network and airdates is listed below.
