Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Heads to Final Events with Numerous Awards Still Up For Grabs, Both

CORONA, CA (October 9, 2010) -The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series heads to the state of Georgia for the final two events of the 2010 season, with the Lucas Oil "Dixie Shootout" at Dixie Speedway on Saturday and the "Rome Showdown" at Rome Speedway on Sunday. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series National Championship will be decided this weekend. Scott Bloomquist is seeking to clinch his second consecutive series championship. Bloomquist holds a260-point lead over Jimmy Owens and 310-point advantage over Earl Pearson Jr. With 8 series victories each in 2010, Bloomquist and Owens are tied for the most wins. Numerous other important points' categories are still up for grabs within the series as well this weekend.

Quarter Master Rookie of the Year Award Comes Down to Final Events

The 2010 Quarter Master Rookie of the Year program has seen a heated battle between Chris Wall, Eric Wells and Tim Isenberg.Chris Wall is leading the Quarter Master points over Eric Wells, heading into the final two events and is looking to clinch the Rookie title this weekend. This year's program will pay $10,000 to the winner of the Quarter Master Rookie of the Year. The runner up will receive $4,500, compliments of Sweet Manufacturing, the associate sponsor of the Rookie of the Year program. Other awards that have been posted for the RoY in 2010 include product awards from Quarter Master, Dyers Rods, Wrisco Industries, FAST Shafts, Performance Bodies, Hyperco, Weld Wheels and Dominator Race Products.

E3 Spark Plugs TV Challenge Concludes at Dixie Saturday Night

Earl Pearson Jr. leads the E3 Spark Plugs TV Challenge point's category heading into the final TV event of 2010. The E3 Spark Plugs Challenge is based on points earned by drivers with perfect attendance during each of the televised events in the 2010 season. The driver earning the most points in all of the televised events, while maintaining perfect attendance, will win a special cash award. The E3 Spark Plug TV Challenge point's champion will receive a $2,500 cash award, and the runner-up will receive a $1,500 cash award at the series year-end awards banquet.

Earl Pearson Jr. Leads the Sunoco Race Fuels "Race For Gas" Points

Sunoco Race Fuels, the Official Fuel of the LOLMDS and title sponsor of the "Sunoco Race for Gas" competition will pay out cash awards to the drivers that finish at the top of the Sunoco Race For Gas" points standings. The driver using Sunoco Race Fuels and earns the most Sunoco Race For Gas points during the season will be awarded a $3,000 cash award for first place. A $1,000 cash award will be given to the runner-up in the yearlong points category. Earl Pearson Jr. currently leads the Sunoco point's standings.

Jimmy Owens Leads the Red Buck Fast Time Category

Tantus Tobacco and their Red Buck Filtered Cigars brand based in Russell Springs, KY is the official fast-time sponsor for the series in 2010. The RED BUCK Fast Time award awards the fastest qualifier at every event with $100. A special year-end award will be given to the driver that earns the most fast time awards during the year at the series' banquet. Jimmy Owens currently leads the Red Buck Fast Time point's category heading into the last two events of the year.

Dale McDowell Leads PBM/Erson Cam Hard Charger Points

Dale McDowell holds a slim 4-point lead over Earl Pearson Jr. for the PBM/Erson Cams Hard Charger of the Year award. The driver that earns the most PBM/Erson Cams Hard Charger points throughout the year will receive a special award from PBM/Erson Cams at the series' banquet.

Ray Cook and Don O'Neal are tied for the OHLINS Shocks Top Performer of the Year Award

Ray Cook and Don O'Neal are tied atop the OHLINS Shocks Top Performer category in 2010 heading to the final two events. The driver that has the best overall performance of each event win a special OHLINS Shocks product award. The driver that earns the most OHLINS Shocks Top Performer points during the season will be awarded a special award at the series' banquet, compliments of OHLINS Shocks.

Scott Bloomquist Leads AFCO Heat Race Points Category

Scott Bloomquist sits atop the AFCO Heat Race point's standings with 19 heat race wins in 2010. AFCO the title sponsor of the "AFCO Heat Race Winners" category, and will give a special award to the driver that wins the most heat races during the 2010 season.

Roush-Yates Racing Engines Leads the COMP Cams Engine Builders

Roush-Yates Engines holds a slim lead over Cornett Racing Engines heading into the final two events for the title of the COMP Cams Engine Builder of the Year in 2010. Engine builders that signed up for the challenge have earned points at every series event in 2010. The COMP Cams Engine Builder of the Year will be crowned at the series year-end banquet. The top engine builder will receive a $2,500 cash award and other special awards from COMP Cams.

Bloomquist Race Cars leads Chassis Builder of the Year

Bloomquist Race Cars leads the point's standings for the top chassis builder of the year. Bloomquist is looking to clinch back-to-back titles in the Chassis Builder of the Year challenge.

Tommy Hicks leads DirtonDirt.com Top Crew Chief Award
DirtonDirt.com has come on board in 2010 to be the title sponsor of the "DirtonDirt.com Crew Chief of the Year" award. Tommy Hicks, Scott Bloomquist's Crew Chief, currently leads the points in this category. The Crew Chief that earns the most points will be crowned "DirtonDirt Crew Chief of the Year" and will receive a special cash award along with a free cruise from "Cruise with the Champions" at the series year end banquet.
