Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Prepares for Southern Sizzler Tour with Seven Races in Ten Days Sta

CORONA, CA (June 5, 2009) - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will have a busy two weeks of racing coming up with seven sanctioned events over a ten day stretch starting on Thursday, June 11 at Duck River Speedway in Wheel, TN as the 2009 edition of the "Southern Sizzler Tour" gets into high gear.

With 15 races in the books so far in '09, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series has seen eleven different winners. The series has seen 297 different drivers participate in at least one event this year, with 17 drivers still maintaining perfect attendance as the series plans for a busy month of June.

The "Southern Sizzler Tour" will begin on Thursday, June 11th with a visit to Duck River Speedway in Wheel, TN followed by a trip to North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA on Friday Night, June 12th and a Saturday Night, June 13th visit to Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL awaits the competitors.

After a couple of days off, the series heads to Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, TN for the first time ever on Tuesday Night, June 16th. Cleveland will become the 49th different track the series has raced at since its inception. The LOLMDS will then hit the track at Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, GA on Thursday Night, June 18th for a rain-out makeup from April. The next night, June 19th Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC hosts the nations premier touring drivers with a Saturday Night, June 20th event at Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, NC topping off the seven races in ten days road trip.

Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN currently holds down the top spot among the series regulars in the championship point's standings. Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL and Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN are currently tied for second in points followed by Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, GA and Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR.

Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN and Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC are tied for sixth in points followed by Scott James of Lawrenceburg, IN, Steve Casebolt of Richmond, IN and Josh McGuire of Grayson, KY.

Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY leads a group of drivers hungry to break into the top ten in points as Jeep VanWormer of Pinconning, MI, Eric Jacobsen of Seacliffe Beach, CA, John Blankenship of Williamson, WV and Dan Schlieper of Sullivan, WI round out the top 15 drivers in points.

VanWormer leads the Quarter Master "Rookie of the Year" chase followed by Blankenship, David Breazeale of Four Corners, MS and Michael Walker of Franklin, TN.

The upcoming "Southern Sizzler Tour" will be previewed on the Lucas Oil Motorsports Hour which will air live via the internet this Tuesday Night, June 9th starting at 8 PM Eastern/7 PM Central on www.DirtCast.com.

The tire rule for all seven sanctioned events by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be as follows: American Racer SD44, SD48 and MD56 and Hoosier 1300, 1350, and the non-ribbed 1600.
