Wheatland, MO (March 31st, 2007)-Lucas Oil Speedway officials have been forced to cancel opening night activities at the speedway scheduled for Saturday night, March 31st due to the excessive rains this past week and the threat of additional inclement weather throughout the day.
Racing action will resume next week, April 7th at the "Diamond of Dirt Tracks" located in Wheatland, Mo with the Season Opener presented by The Bolivar Herald-Free Press. All regular classes will be in action. In addition to an exciting night of racing the track will host Paco, the king of the rollovers in a thrilling vehicle rollover exhibition! The first round of the Lucas Oil Spring-Bling 8-race Bonus Series presented by Sawyer Tire will also begin on April 7th. Grandstand gates will open at 5:00 with Hot Laps at 6:30 and racing to follow.
The Junior Fan Club will be giving away free checkered flags to all race fans 11 and under that sign up for this ever popular club on opening night. Children 11 and under are admitted free to the speedway. Admission price for adults is $12, seniors are $8, and Students 12-17 are also $8. Season passes are available for $200 for students and seniors, adult season passes are $300. Pit passes are $25. Special events will be priced accordingly.
Don't forget to mark your calendars for the April 14th, co-sanctioned Orscheln's Farm and Home MLRA/MARS Spring Thunder Late Model race presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts on along with the A-Modifieds, Factory Stocks, and B-Mods. An appearance by the Chrome Shop Mafia from the highly acclaimed Trick My Truck TV show on CMT has also been announced for April 14th! Details to be released soon!
Among the offerings for the upcoming season are two appearances by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series cars. The first on May 11th and 12th will feature the Lucas Oil Late Models in the $25,000 to win Superchip's “Diamond of the Dirt Mothers Day Special” presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts. Also appearing with the late models will be some of the area's fastest modifieds. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series returns on July 21st for a one day show along with the MLRA Late Models. The stars and cars of the O'Reilly MLRA will be with us again on August 18th. The Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League truck and tractor pull returns to Lucas Oil Speedway on June 8th and 9th and the ASCS winged sprint cars will be featured on June 30th. Added to the schedule this year will be the WSORR (World Series of Off Road Racing) which will present their season finale at the Speedway on September 22nd and 23rd.
