Lucas Wolfe returned to Williams Grove Speedway on Sunday afternoon and earned a runner-up finish at his home track in his first start of the year at the storied half-mile.

Wolfe, a contender for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award this season with the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series won a heat race and lined up second for the 25-lap contest, with a very strong field of drivers in attendance.

He challenged Fred Rahmer, the winningest driver in Williams Grove Speedway history for the lead toward the middle of the race on a restart. Wolfe briefly took the lead exiting the second turn with a Rahmer inching back ahead after a drag race down the back straightaway heading into the third turn.

Wolfe, who won three times last season at Williams Grove Speedway, is currently 15th in points with the World of Outlaws.

The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will visit Williams Grove Speedway on three separate occasions in 2008, beginning with a two-day event on May 15 and 16. The series second stop at the half-mile will be for the Summer Nationals on July 18 and 19, followed by the famed National Open on September 26 and 27.
