Batesville, Arkansas (June 14, 2004) - After a long hiatus, the stars and cars of the O'Reilly Mid America Racing Series (M.A.R.S.) will thunder back into action as they prepare for a triple header.

The M.A.R.S. tour has lost almost half of their dates in the early 2004 campaign to Mother Nature, but the shows that have been held have been earth-shattering. After six completed events, Wendell Wallace from Batesville, Arkansas resides on the top of the M.A.R.S. points. Wallace maintains an 21 point advantage over Terry Phillips from Springfield, Missouri, who has picked up two victories thus far into the 2004 campaign. Al Purkey, Jeff Floyd, and Bill Frye round out the top five in series' points. Other drivers expected for the events include Dewaine Hottinger, Peyton Taylor, Jack Sullivan, Shane Essary, Jon Mitchell, Brad Looney, Dustin Mooneyham, Brandon McCormick, Jerry Buck, Steve Rushin, Joey Mack, Leslie Essary, Gary Stolba, and many more super late model stars of the Midwest.

Night #1 of the triple header will find the M.A.R.S. competitors invading Malden Speedway in Malden, Missouri for a $3,000 to win feature event on Friday, June 18th. This will be the only 2004 appearance for the M.A.R.S. competitors at the 3/8 mile oval located in the Missouri Bootheel. Gates are scheduled to open at 5:00 at the Malden Speedway, with hot laps set for 7:00 and racing at 7:30. The track is located Northwest of Malden, off Hwy. 25 North on County Road 102 (Thunder Road). For more information visit the track website at www.maldenspeedway.com.

Night #2 of the triple header will find the M.A.R.S. competitors rolling into West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, Missouri in an event that will see the super late model pilots battling around the semi-banked, 3/8 mile oval for a $3,000 top prize on Saturday, June 19th. The last time that the Martians invaded WPMS, Jeff Taylor captured the thrilling victory. West Plains Motor Speedway is located 6 Miles South of West Plains, MO on US Highway 63.
