MACON -- The POWRi Midgets and Micros visited Macon Speedway once again Friday night, part one of a double header weekend. Local favorite Justin Allgaier and the rest of the POWRi drivers were throwing caution to the wind and sliding the cars through every turn. Tomorrow, Macon Speedway runs this year's Herald and Review 100 for the Northern All Star Late Models. But don't count out the local drivers. Kyle Logue, Cory Daugherty and Jayme Zidar have experience on their side. Plus, three time Modified feature winner Jeremy Nichols will run his brand new jet black Late Model for the first time.
In front of his hometown fans, Justin Allgaier won his first POWRi Midget feature at Macon Speedway. Mike Hess led the race unchallenged, but Allgaier made up track position on a timely caution. Hess and Allgaier traded the lead back and forth for ten laps before Allgaier pulled away to the win. "We've wanting to get a victory for a long time. This was an awesome night for everyone on the crew." Allgaier said.

In the Micro feature, Austin Brown had to avoid a couple of pass attempts from Dereck King. Brown ran the Midget feature as well, and used what he learned for the micros. “I knew the track was slick from top to bottom. Everything was up top for the Midgets. I love running the top at this track.” Brown said.
Jeff Curl made his first visit to Macon Speedway in a few months. He had to get by Marty Hiser to win the BARBECK Communications Modified feature. Hiser passed Curl with two to go, but Curl snuck his nose inside on the last turn and won. Mark Tullis was the only car finding speed on the outside. He made an impressive run finishing right with the winners in third place. Best fan in the stand driver Larry Ferguson picked Jamie Ferguson as his best fan, earning them both a $100 prize.
